Shahid Kapoor has managed to broker peace between co-star Sonam and his father Pankaj Kapur.
On the director's birthday on Saturday night, it was the mausam for making up. The two finally talked out their differences.
Explains an insider, "The dates that Sonam gave her other films went for a toss, thanks to Mausam's erratic schedule.
It was also recently reported that Sonam walked off the sets on noticing lack of facilities at the location.
Sonam and Mausam director Pankaj didn't see eye to eye yet were cordial to each other on the sets. Her showing up to Kapur's surprise birthday party thawed the ice between the two."
Pankaj gave her a big hug when she entered the party. Sonam hugged him back. He looked really happy to see her and she looked at ease chatting with him. Pankaj was even heard praising the actress.
The source adds that the bash in Bandra was organised by Shahid, "It was a surprise party. Sonam, too, decided to let bygone be bygones and came at the time mentioned."
Anil Kapoor's beti came for the party though she was exhausted and hadn't slept for almost 24 hours.
"She had shot the whole day for Mausam and not slept the night before as she rushed to wrap the shoot. People close to Pankaj were heard remarking on how well the girl's parents had brought her up."What the...
In March this year it was reported that Sonam Kapoor had flown down to Chandigarh for Mausam in the wee hours but on going to the resort she discovered that her room was not reserved.
After an hour, she finally checked into a room, freshened up and arrived at the shooting spot to find that her make-up man, vanity van and spot boy were unavailable.
She then made several calls to the production house and finally decided to leave the sets.
The producers apologised and finally managed to bring her back to the sets to complete the shooting of the song.

Why is Asin not upset with Salman for hogging all the limelight?

"When a film stars Salman Khan, it is but natural that the script is written to accentuate his presence in the film.
It is also logical to have the film revolve around him. The same has to reflect in the promos as well ead, " she said. where his style and mannerisms are exposed to the audience, " Asin.
The Annes Bazmee directorial is the third Hindi film for the 25-year-old actress, who has decided to work in only one big Bollywood venture a time and wait for the results rather than pick up multiple projects.
"This was a conscious decision. I waited for the best offer to come my way and I got that in the form of 'Ready' where I get to play a solo heroine in a commercial film with Salman and Anees Bazmee, " said Asin.
And the actress has the trend continuing with her next film 'Housefull 2' as well, where she has Akshay Kumar for company. With almost a decade's experience in South Indian films, Asin debuted in Bollywood opposite Aamir Khan in 'Ghajini'.
Despite being in showbiz for so long and working with superstars, the actress says she hasn't let fame get to her head. "I am a grounded person, mainly because of the kind of upbringing that I have had.
My parents are very down to earth people and that is one reason why I never try to fly high. Being a part of the industry hasn't changed one bit of me or my family over the years, " she said.
"I feel everyday that I still have to prove a point. I don't consider myself as someone who is so big that her success could go to her head, " she said.Salman is called Prem in 'Ready', which sparked off rumours that the actor is set to re-create his onscreen chemistry with Madhuri Dixit from the hit movie 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun'. But Asin dismissed them as mere speculation.
"I don't know from where did these Madhuri-Salman talks start. In fact while I was shooting for the film, I wasn't even thinking of Madhuri or making any conscious effort to recreate it. We just went ahead and followed the script."
"I am sure that I hadn't got any such brief. If at all such stories started making rounds, it was after the shooting was through.
Perhaps some people saw a still or two from the film and started bringing on comparisons with Madhuri or Aishwarya. I can assure though that all of this is plain speculation, " she said.

Why didn’t you direct Delly Belly besides producing it?
Abhinay (Deo) has made Delly Belly the exact way we wanted. The script came to us and we chose him and he has done full justice to it.
As a producer, I am really satisfied the way the film has shaped up, the way Abhinay has brought out the humour, the excitement…he lived up to our faith completely.
Why did you cast your nephew Imran as a lead in the film?
The reason we chose Imran is because he is a thik thak actor (smiles)…a good actor. He suits the character of Tashi to the ‘T’.
Is it a remake?
It is not a remake of any film. It is an original film. The script has been written by Akshat Verma, who has been a student of UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles); he studied films there. It’s his story.
Delly Belly has a dark script while your production house maintains a clean, family entertainment tag. Are you taking a risk with this film?
Yes you are right in saying that I produce films that are family-oriented, carry social message; mainly for family audience. But for the first time we have made a film which is strictly not for kids. The language used in the film is really indecent.
So, it is also not for those people who prefer to stay away from filthy language. We had applied for an adults (A) certificate (at the Censor Board)…and we got that.
Delly Belly is a very irreverent film; it’s aimed at the youth. I loved the film, though personally I don’t use foul language.
How did you feel when you read the script for the first time?I couldn’t stop laughing when I read the script for the first time. Akshat was trying for months to approach me with his script.
He came to Mumbai from LA only to meet me. But I was busy shooting for a film and so couldn’t meet him. So, he gave the script to my maid at home.
I don’t know where the maid kept the script, but somehow it showed up on my table. One day, I was answering some emails on Internet and Kiran (Rao, wife) was waiting for me to get free.
There were about 100-150 scripts on my table and the very first script she picked up for a casual read was this one.
I saw her laughing while reading the script and gradually her laughter got louder and she literally rolled down from the sofa. I asked her: ‘What are you reading?’She said this script is really funny and that I should read it too.
We were supposed to go out, but we cancelled our plan. Kiran refused to leave the script half-read. She completed reading the script in 90 minutes.
I immediately started reading it after she was done. I wasted no time in calling Jim (one of the producers) and Akshat, who had just reached LA that time, and said I wanted to meet him. He took the next flight and returned to Mumbai.
Now that the song- Bhaag Bhaag DK Bose- is topping the music charts, who is DK Bose?
At times we face certain andhi-like (stormy) situations in life. That time the only option left to us to flee. It’s at that time one sings this kind of song.
Why aren’t you disclosing the name of your item girl in Delly Belly? Till a heroine or item girl is decided, I feel very happy because all actresses smile at me a lot. Wherever I go, girls give me a lot of smiles. So I feel very happy and ask my director to take more time to choose and announce the heroine.
What if you get confused on a heroine given that so many girls are smiling at you?
In that case, I will turn item boy and start dancing.
Shifting from Delly Bellyi, Salman Khan said he will tie up your hands and feet so that you don’t marry a third time. You comment to that?
You people (media) asked me how will Salman get married. I said since he himself is not taking any initiative, so we have to tie up his hands and feet and get him married.
Now you are saying he wants to tie up my en there is no guarantee… (that I won’t marry again). hand and legs. He is absolutely right. If someone doesn’t tie me up, then there is no guarantee…(that I won’t marry again).

Sridevi, who was meant to make a comeback with Mr India 2, will instead return to the screen with Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish, after a hiatus of 14 years.
Work on the film will begin on July 7. Shinde, ad man Balki's wife, will be Sridevi's first woman director. A chat with the diva about her return:
What prompted you to do a film after a 14-year gap?
The credit goes to the script and my director. When I heard the script, I fell in love with it. I hope it turns out well.
Have the preparations begun?
Yes! We've already started working on costumes and the look -- we've selected the sarees.
Gauri Shinde will be your first woman director.
That's true. I've never worked with a woman director before. When I met her there was so much positive energy between us.
You're famous for giving great performances in a number of awful films.
(Laughs) I did what I had to do. I'm a director's actor and I just do my work honestly, enjoying what I've done.
Did you miss the film industry while you were away?
No, I loved spending time at home, raising my children. Besides, being a producer's wife, how can I ever be away from the industry? I never felt disconnected.
Why are you looking so thin these days?Is that a bad thing? I want to be slim and healthy. Am I looking too thin? My daughters are very health-conscious. I'm succeeding in making Boney (Kapoor, her husband) eat healthy too.
Judaai was the last time you faced the camera.
Yes. It's been a while since I faced the camera. I'm nervous and excited. My children and husband are excited about the comeback.
Do you want to keep your daughters away from Bollywood, since it's a hard life?
No matter which profession you are in, you have to slog. Nothing comes easy.

Meri Biwi ka Jawaab Nahin was released in 2004. In the film, Sridevi fights her husband Akshay Kumar's evil boss.
The immensely forgettable film was made in the '90s but was released later. The 1997 Judaai was the last film for which Sridevi shot.

Sonakshis diamond jewellery worth lakhs goes missing

Sonakshi Sinha's diamond jewellery worth lakhs went missing from her vanity van on the sets of her next movie, Joker.
The theft occurred when the actress stepped out for a while during a late-night shoot.
Says a unit source, "She looked around in the van. But she was sure that she had kept it along with her other stuff. She then asked around but nothing came of it."
Adds the source, "However, Sona remained calm. She did not want to raise a ruckus and delay the shoot.
No one would own up immediately and it would be an exercise in futility. In any case, the unit realised about the theft much later."
Director Shirish Kunder says, "My birthday was on May 24 and the cast and crew were ushering it in on the sets. Akshay (Kumar) had planned a celebration.This is when Sonakshi's diamond solitaire earrings went missing from her vanity van. The theft occured at Film City. Sonakshi's diamond solitaire earrings were stolen. A police complaint has been launched."
However, Poonam maintains, "There are so many people who lose things or have their stuff robbed. Let Sonakshi be, so what if she is a star? I can only laugh about it now. Nothing was stolen."
Amrita too!
Amrita Rao's diamond jewellery set (costing approx Rs 7 lakh) vanished from the sets of Love You Mr Kalaakaar. As reported 'Lost and not found' (Hitlist, May 5), the sparklers went missing from her bag in the vanity van. Amrita did not file a police complaint. The jewels were part of her endorsement deal for a brand.

Is Yash Chopra planning to recreate Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge magic with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in his directorial next?
We recently spotted the actress at the YRF studios and sources inform that it was more than just a casual visit.
Rumours are rife that the film, a romantic saga, will star SRK and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. However, there is another spot in the movie and YRF's favourite actress, Kads is being considered for it.
The source reveals, "Chopra is very keen to have Kads opposite Shah Rukh. He is quite fond of both of them and loves their onscreen pairing. He feels that they can create the same magic."
"While it's sure that Katrina will star in the film, it could be possible that the movie is a love triangle and that they have approached Kajol to either reprise the other romantic lead or do a cameo," the source further adds.
The filmmaker who has directed movies like Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Silsila, etc. is returning to direction after seven years, with a romantic film. His last directorial venture was Veer Zara in 2004.

After Ekta Kapoor's best friend Neelam Kothari got married to Sameer Soni recently, the Kapoor family is getting worried about their 36-year-old daughter.
They are now all set to find the perfect groom for the TV Czarina.
Ekta's brother, Tusshar confirms, "Yes we are very concerned about Ekta finding the right match. It has come to a point where I now go to parties and social gatherings only to check out prospective husbands for her!"
Sources say that the Kapoor khandan is leaving no stones unturned and have, apparently, forwarded her kundali to pundits and elders in the family asking them to keep an eye and ear open for a suitable bridegroom.
Reveals Tusshar, "It has come to a point where the minute I see a guy of a certain age I start making discreet inquires about his family life, work details, etc.
It's a scary thought, but I've become like one of those marriage-obsessed characters in Ekta's serials."But the question is - who is the right match for Ekta Kapoor?
Tusshar and the family realise that finding a suitable match for their TV tycoon is an uphill task. Says Tusshar, "It has to be someone more successful than her and who can influence her.
That's a tall order. It has to be someone like Shah Rukh Khan. We are looking.
If Yash Chopra and Karan Johar think there's someone somewhere for all of us then it's just a matter of time before we find the right person for Ekta."
